The funds your provide allow us to function and grow as a museum and resource for our community.

With only 23% of our budget spent on operation costs and employees, you can be guaranteed that your donation will make an impact in our expansion. 

Our mission is to honor and perpetuate the memory of the men and women who have served in the U. S. Armed Forces and Wartime Merchant Marine. We support the community through our museum activities, educational programs, oral histories, and community programs that keep alive the contributions and experiences of those who served. Our museum is open to the public for a small charge and all money raised goes directly to supporting the museum’s programs and operations.

How to Make a Money Donation
The Veterans Museum at Balboa Park now accepts online donations via your charge card on our secure webpage. To donate, please click the “Donate Now” button and you will be directed to FlipCause. You can chose a one-time, monthly, quarterly or annual donation.
Where to Mail a Money Donation
If you prefer to mail a check or money order, please make checks payable to the “Veterans Memorial Center, Inc.” and mail your donation to:

How to Donate a Vehicle
Put your unwanted car to good use – it is easier than selling the vehicle, you’ll get a tax receipt, and your donation will be gratefully accepted by the Veterans Memorial Center. Please visit the Center for CAR Donations or call the toll free number 1-877-411-3662 to make your vehicle donation.
How to Gift Your Life Insurance Policy
You may make a contribution of life insurance to The Veterans Museum at Balboa Park by naming the Veterans Museum as owner, primary or successor beneficiary, or irrevocable beneficiary of a whole life policy. The gift may be a paid-up policy, an existing policy with cash value, or a new policy.

How to Gift Personal Property
Valuable collections such as works of art, rare books, paintings or antiques can be subject to estate taxes. By donating such items at some point in your lifetime, you not only lessen your taxable estate but also decrease your taxable income in the year of the gift.

How to Gift Stocks & Bonds
You can select to give a gift of appreciated securities in order to benefit from tax advantages. You can obtain an income tax deduction equal to the fair-market value of the securities, as well as reduce — or do away with — capital gains taxes on the transfer.

Does Your Employer Have a Matching Gift Program?
Many employers offer matching gift programs that can double your gift. Please ask if such a program exists at your place of work.
Donating Your Services Through In-Kind Work

We also accept in-kind gifts. The Veterans Museum at Balboa Park has received gifts of goods and services from various supporters. These may include equipment, supplies, consulting services, design services, legal services, and program services.
